Personal validation is one of the most important Trust steps inside EcoTech. EcoTech allows people to create profiles, explore the ecosystem and begin participating before every Trust step is complete. But as participation becomes more meaningful, EcoTech needs to know that the person operating an account is really the person they claim to be. That is where personal validation comes in. What Does Personal Validation Prove? Personal validation answers one core question: Is this person who they say they are? EcoTech reviews suitable identity evidence so that the system can establish a trusted link between the EcoTech account and the real person behind it. That Trust relationship becomes the foundation for deeper activity across the platform. Personal validation does not automatically prove that: you own a business; you are authorised to represent a company; you are an expert in a particular field; EcoTech endorses your opinions; or every statement you make is correct. Those are separate matters. Personal validation is about identity. Why Is This Important? Without trusted identity, digital systems can easily become confused about who is acting, who has authority and who should have access to sensitive information. EcoTech separates those questions. First: Who is the person? Then: What businesses, organisations, roles and permissions are connected to that person? This creates a more reliable foundation for the rest of the ecosystem. Once your identity has been validated, that trusted identity can support your participation across multiple relationships. For example, the same validated person may later: operate their own business; work for another Enterprise; publish in a personal capacity; manage documents; receive shared information; issue quotations or invoices on behalf of an authorised business; participate in an industry; or hold a role inside an organisation. Your identity stays the same. Your roles and authority may change. Personal Validation and Business Validation Are Different This distinction is essential. Personal validation asks: Is this person who they say they are? Business validation asks: Does this business exist, and is this person authorised to act for it? A validated person is not automatically authorised to operate every business they claim. Likewise, a verified business still needs authorised people connected to it. Access Can Come Before Validation EcoTech is designed so that participation does not always have to wait for every Trust process to be complete. A person may be able to explore EcoTech, create certain information or begin an onboarding journey before validation is finalised. But deeper authority should only be granted when the appropriate Trust requirements are satisfied. A simple principle is: Access can be granted before validation. Authority must be earned through validation. That principle helps EcoTech remain open enough for participation while still protecting meaningful business activity. Why Validation Matters to Echo Echo becomes more valuable when it understands the context in which you are operating. A validated identity helps EcoTech distinguish between: you as an individual and you acting on behalf of a business or Enterprise. That matters when Echo works with Documents, QI, shared information, business relationships and other authorised context. The goal is not simply to know that information exists. The goal is to understand who is authorised to work with it.
