🌍 Help Shape Africa’s Environmental Intelligence Network
EcoTech invites climate scientists, environmental researchers, universities, laboratories, water specialists, agricultural experts, conservationists, technology developers and communities to contribute ideas, research, observations and practical experience toward building a trusted environmental intelligence network for Africa.
Voir le parcours de participationAfrica has extraordinary environmental knowledge.
It exists in universities, laboratories, farms, communities, conservation organisations, weather stations, businesses, research projects and in the lived experience of people who work with the land and water every day.
The challenge is that much of this knowledge remains fragmented.
What if Africa could connect it?
EcoTech believes the continent can begin building its own environmental intelligence network — one that brings together verified observations,
scientific research, local knowledge, environmental data and practical solutions from across Africa.
Farmers could contribute observations about rainfall, soil and changing growing conditions.
Researchers and universities could provide scientific validation.
Communities could report environmental challenges affecting water, air, waste or land.
Businesses and organisations could share projects, technologies and working solutions.
Environmental professionals could help interpret what the information means and where action may be required.
The purpose is not to replace existing scientific institutions or environmental authorities.
It is to create stronger connections between them — and to make useful knowledge more accessible to the people who need it.
EcoTech is inviting the experts
We invite climate scientists, environmental researchers, meteorologists, ecologists, conservationists, water specialists, agricultural scientists, universities, laboratories, environmental organisations, policymakers, technology developers and communities to engage with the continent on this question:
What would it take for Africa to build and own a trusted environmental intelligence network?
What should we measure?
Who should validate the information?
How should local and indigenous knowledge be included?
How can communities contribute?
How can environmental information be returned to communities in ways that help them make better decisions?
And importantly:
How do we ensure that Africa's environmental knowledge remains an African asset while still contributing to global science?
EcoTech would like to help open that conversation.
Africa should not only be a source of environmental data for the world.
Africa should also have the capacity to connect, understand and use its own environmental intelligence.
